In 2017, content marketing became a $200 billion industry. And it’s predicted to cross the $300 billion mark in 2019.
The problem is, most of the advice on growing with content marketing is for SaaS startups, not e-commerce. So I decided to share my journey growing an eCommerce blog from 0 to 50,000 visitors/month.
Here’s my process:
- I start by creating a content strategy, which I estimate would bring in $118,000 in revenue year one, and $708,000 in year two.
- Next, I need to start writing content optimized for SEO because traffic from Google will bring in most of my traffic, most likely in month six.
- After writing the content, I needed an effective content promotion strategy to blitzkrieg growth. This process allows me to test different traffic tactics to find what works, and cut what doesn’t.
